Rene Anthony - Intern Counselor

I am an intern working under the supervision of Naomi Briones, LPC. I am currently pursuing a Master’s in Counseling from ASU. I received my Bachelors in Biomedical Science from NAU in 2023. For the past three years, I have worked in education at a local elementary school. I am passionate about working with children and navigating issues such as depression, anxiety, social and emotional learning, and life transitions. My therapeutic approach centers on the belief that counseling is a deeply meaningful experience that has the capacity to create a positive impact in an individual's life. I hope to utilize Child-Centered Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Art Therapy techniques, while incorporating multicultural counseling and trauma-informed principles. With this, I hope to create a safe and supportive environment for clients as they work towards healing.

In my free time, I love doing arts and crafts, cooking, and spending time with my friends and lovely dog Roo.
